A blend of herbs known for their healing & soothing properties, this balm may be perfect for calming down skin irritations, and supporting the skins integrity whilst it regenerates.
Chapped skin, light grazes, dry or inflamed patches of skin.
Ingredients:
*Organic sunflower oil
A trial conducted in 2012 found that olive oil is more likely to cause erethyma (redness) & reduction in stratum corneum (upper most layer of skin) integrity, in people with & without a history of atopic dermatitis. This means it damages the skin, and is not recommended for people with dry skin, or infants. Sunflower oil improves skin hydration, and does not damage the skin, making it suitable for everyone in the family.
* Organic Calendula 𝒞𝒶𝓁𝑒𝓃𝒹𝓊𝓁𝒶 O𝒻𝒻𝒾𝒸𝒾𝓃𝒶𝓁𝒾𝓈
Soothing for all manner of skin irritations, acne, sunburn, rashes including nappy rash. Speeds up healing and wound closure whilst improving skin firmness and hydration. Antimicrobial & antibacterial.
*Organic Chamomile 𝑀𝒶𝓉𝓇𝒾𝒸𝒶𝓇𝒾𝒶 𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓂𝑜𝓂𝒾𝓁𝓁𝒶
Calming and safe for children. Sweet smelling, and known to be supportive for allergic skin conditions, including itchy skin & eczema.
*Organic Yarrow 𝒜𝓇𝒸𝒽𝒾𝓁𝓁𝑒𝒶 𝑀𝒾𝓁𝓁𝑒𝒻𝑜𝓁𝒾𝓊𝓂
Known as soldiers woundwort & nosebleed plant, for its ability to stop bleeding by encouraging the contraction of blood vessels and clotting. Antibacterial, antifungal, helpful for bruises, sprains and swelling.
*Organic Nettle Leaf 𝒰𝓇𝓉𝒾𝒸𝒶 𝒟𝒾𝑜𝒾𝒸𝒶
Gives the balm its greenish hue. Fantastic for allergies, anti-inflammatory. In Germany it is used as a treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis thanks to its immunomodulating effect, so helpful for mild pain associated with grazes etc.
*Organic Blue Mallow 𝑀𝒶𝓁𝓁𝑜𝓌 𝒮𝓎𝓁𝓋𝑒𝓈𝓉𝓇𝒾𝓈
A soothing & anti-inflammatory mucilage. Antibacterial, and noted to work well for burns, swelling & dermatitis.
*Beeswax from the backyard hive.
*Organic Shea Butter
*Vitamin E
*Apricot oil.
Natural Imperfections can occur.
As there are no emulsifiers in this formulation, there can sometimes be variances in appearance. You may see some cream coloured spots - this is the shea butter suspended as tiny droplets. These disappear once the balm is warmed & makes no difference to its use.
There may be a surface crack- this is dependent on where on the cooling tray the balm is situated when in the fridge. Without added chemicals, this will continue to happen sporadically, till a commercial cool room can be accessed.
The hue of the balm will vary from time to time due to natural variations in beeswax colours.
Committed to cleaner living & natural wellness, Backyard Remedy will always use Organic ingredients where practical, and varieties of honey known for their medicinal properties, in all wellness formulations.
